Breaking the Mould

Hey everyone, I know I haven't blogged in a very long time, but I finished Uni and needed a break from writing - honestly, the last year of Uni was so intense it completely sucked the enjoyment out of any form of writing for a lot longer than I would have liked; my poetry, my fiction... and my blog. I wrote a post in June , I know, but that's only because I had something truly passionate to write about; a one-off thing it would seem... But earlier in the week I read an article on Bored Panda and it really got me thinking: Why do I always wait until something exciting or emotion-stimulating happens to me to blog? But I think deep down I know the answer to my own question: I've never thought people would want to read about things that aren't exciting or emotion-stimulating. That was until I found out about Holly Warland ( Facebook and Instagram ). Holly has taken it into her own hands to change the concept of disability blogging and it has truly opened my eyes...

Once Upon A Time, there was a series...

I finished Once Upon A Time Monday afternoon (18th June 2018) and totally lost it, I was an absolute mess!!! Not just because of the plot of the final episode - although that in itself was enough to have me bawling my eyes out - but because it was just that, the final episode! And where so many series’ have failed over the years, Once succeeded profusely to capture my heart for the long haul; I was never bored, never uninterested, never wishing they’d “get to the point already”, I was just totally and utterly enthralled throughout its entirety. For those of you who haven't seen it (and I can't stress highly enough how much you should!!), Once Upon A Time is, in a nutshell, a crossover series of f...

The Start of Something New...

... yes, I did just use HSM for inspiration for my title *facepalm* Anyway, hey everyone, long time, no see! ... Well, speak lol. Since it's been so long, and lots of things have changed, I've decided to start a fresh with my blogging - coincidentally on New Year's Day - so welcome to the new (and hopefully improved somewhat) blog, and to any potential new followers who missed out on my previous blogs! I thought I'd use this first post to properly explain the reasoning behind this change and to assure you that yes, it is still me, that crazy girl Lucy who was once a Demelza Teen. Which brings me to the main reason for the blogging switcharoo... As some of you may remember, I used to volunteer for Demelza Hospice Care for Children - a respite service I myself used to access - for my college course and was "blogily" christened Demelza Teen . That was four years ago now!! Having finished college two years after, and my position not fitti...
